Tonight we attended the Knight's of Columbus Annual awards banquet at our church. It is always a nice little break in an otherwise real hectic time of year. Good food (thanks to Tim, who came in 6th place in Memphs in May shoulder division and brought leftovers yummy),great time with friends.
Tim (current Grand Knight) gave out goofy awards to the guys who were his officers, then awarded the Knight of the Year and the Family of the Year.
We were honored to be awarded the Family of the Year!
It is voted on by all the Knight's themselves, and distinguishes a family who devotes themselves to the ideals of what the Knight's is all about as well as service to the church community. Apparently a very large number of the Knight's feel we were deserving. I can't begin to say what an honor this is for us! We give of our time because we want to and we enjoy the friends, fellowship, and helping out.
Such a special evening!
